Sir,
I have the honour to acknowledge the
receipt of your despatch No.62 dated 2nd March, 1927,
on the subject of the revised arrangements for the
selection and training of candidates for survey
appointments, and to confirm my telegram of 6th May, 1927, requesting the appointment of two Second Class
Surveyors, as soon as their training course is completed.
2. with reference to paragraph 9 of your
despatch the Director of Public Works suggests that
instruction in observations for latitude and longitude
and a certain amount of spherical trigonometry might
usefully form part of the training if not already
included in the course.
It is observed that Memorandum Miscellaneous
No.225 contains no information regarding the Surveying
Service of this Colony. A note supplying this information is being prepared and will be forwarded to you in due course
